It's official

Well, I did it. I went to the Supervisor of Elections office today and changed my political party affiliation to "No Party Affiliation". I'm officially one of the disenfranchised of the Republican party. Wow.

Never thought I'd do that. But when John McCain's strongest defense of Sarah Palin to date was a lame "she did great" on a late night show, I did not consider that good enough. When the Republican operatives who had surrounded Sarah and John during the election came out and lied about her and said things that were not true, and the candidate himself refused to deny those lies (probably hoping to get a place on the evil-that-is's cabinet), that was enough.

First they went all mealy-mouthed and spineless after Newt Gingrich disgraced himself with his own libido (if a man can't keep that in control, what can he control?). Republicans have been wimpy ever since. I want someone who can and will stand up for what's right (not just what's Republican: what's right), not someone who will kowtow and cower in the corner anytime someone says, "You're being mean. I don't like you!" The Republican "leadership" (and I use the term to denote a supposed position in the party, not because they actually were) would scream and cry, "Please! Like us! Please! Please! Please!" and they would cave to whatever the opposition wanted. For the last eight years the only group the Republicans have been willing to stand up to is its own people!

Then, when the elections came up for this year, they allowed the MSM (Main Stream Media) to choose who was going to be our nominee. For Pete's sake! If you're not going to have the courage to choose your own nominee, then what will you stand up for that your own party is supposed to believe in? Well.... Nothing I can think of. So, John McCain was chosen to be the Republican candidate. Not a good thing. We, the people did not choose him, the MSM did and we all know that the MSM hates the Republican party and all that is conservative, so we know their candidate wasn't exactly our choice. He was foisted upon us and we had no other party we could go to that had a snowball's chance to win. So we gave tacit support to John McCain. No, he wasn't what we wanted. No, he didn't light our fires. But he was better than the other real possibility by a long shot, so we were unenthusiastically behind him: "Yeah. I'll vote for him, if I have to."

When John McCain nominated Sarah Palin and I saw her resume (her conservative Christian, gun-toting, pro-life resume), I said, "HURRAY! This I can believe in!" and I gave my support to her with all my heart. I believed in the Sarah Palin part of the ticket, so when I saw that no one in the Republican party was going to come out and tell those liars to shut up, they were going to let the lies stand — including the head of the ticket she was second on — I said, "Enough."

I've told the Republican party for years the same thing over and over and over again when they call asking for money: "No Spine, No Dime." That's been my mantra for at least eight years. Now, I have no party affiliation to call me asking for money, but I do have the peace of mind that I stood up for what I believe in.

When a political party loses its way; when it caves to what the other party wants more than standing for its own members; when it eats its party LOYALS like cannibals (I do not include those who are not the party loyals, i.e.: RINOs); then I say, "Enough." The "leadership" has lost its focus, or perhaps never had any, and I do not have to wander in the wilderness for years and years because a bunch of fools and idiots are at the wheel of the party.

No, I will make my own way now. I will not support something that has lost its way and I will not cave to those who will have a problem with me leaving (and I can think of about four right now who will have a big problem with it and I'll probably get e-mails chiding me for this, but that's their problem). I will have nothing more to do with the Republican party until they realize that America needs them to stand up and fight for what is right and what is good and what is CONSERVATIVE in America because our futures (and the futures of our children and grandchildren) depend on it. Unless and until the Republican party "leadership" does a complete about-face and gets a spine, I am and will continue to be a "No Party Affiliated" person and I will be glad of it.

Maybe if enough of us leave the sinking — intentionally sunk — ship that is the GOP, we would make the "leadership" wake up and realize that their ship sailed long ago and that it wasn't in Blue Blood that it sailed, but in the red blood of American soldiers who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan; the pure white innocence of the babies aborted because we weren't strong enough and willing enough to win the battle; and, yes, the blue of the cold we, The People, have been left out in because we weren't hoi poloi enough for the "leadership" to take notice of our membership.

The Republican Party has sunk its own ship. Willingly, deliberately and amazingly. Some day, when history looks back at this sinking, it will be labeled as one of those things that did not have to happen. It was chosen to do so.

More's the pity. We once had The Great Communicator and then we settled for the Great Aisle-Crosser. And America went down with the ship.

If anyone wants to read some good blogs that have a biting wit and a dry sense of humor (the best kind), check out Larry's site, URL above. His is one of my favorite blogs. It ranks right up there with Ann Coulter's. I like his kind of writing and I comment there often.

I admit, I did advertise my site on his blog because I wanted to reply to something he had written and to say what I had done, but not post this whole blog on his site. Thus, I put a link to this blog. He is doing the same to me and that's just fine with me. He's worth it.

Read No Left Turnz and enjoy. He's very good and very RIGHT.

I agree. I was registered "non-partisan" for most of my adult life. I voted for Reagan three times (write-in 1972). I recently registered Republican so I could vote for Ron Paul in the primary; the Rep. poll watchers refused to identify his delegates. I held my nose and voted McCain on Nov. 4. I suggest looking into the Constitution Party...Vote FOR something. Madison would weep seeing the last century of "progressive change" overriding the Constitution's intent. Restore the Republic!

I wish I had been old enough to do a write-in for Reagan in 1972. As it is, I was in... oh, what was it?.... seventh grade? So I couldn't vote for him then, but if I had been old enough, I probably would have done the write-in. He is one of my heroes and I think he's probably the absolute best president since Abraham Lincoln!

I voted for Palin on Nov. 4th, and did so without reserve. The fact that McCain was on the ticket as the "Blue Light Special" (thanks, Hillary) was just a coincidence. I loved being able to vote for a woman and I thought she was the perfect choice: pro-life (as am I), pro-gun (as am I), pro-lower taxes and smaller government (as am I), conservative (as am I), Christian (as am I). In fact, my two sons and my neighbor all said that she was just like me! I voted for myself! (Shocking!)

But, no. We got instead a liar like Bill Clinton (if you read my previous posts you will see my assertion that B. Hussein O. studied Clintoon and is just like him); a small replica who knows how to cheat better, talks worse and spends more. Sigh... It's going to be a rough row to hoe.

Restore the Republic! Even though after BHO it shall be bloodied and bruised, bandaged thoroughly and bleeding internally. It is still worth fighting for!

I was waffling two weeks before the election, thinking I needed to go down and change my party affiliation, but didn't do it. But I will do it this week without fail. I loved the saying, "no spine, no dime"!

Good for you. Stand up to the idea that party affiliation will win back our conservative chances and that the blue blood Republicans can do this for us. Stand against the idea that Republicans are the only choice for those of us who love America -- as battered as she is -- and we can't do anything real without them. Stand up and leave the party that has already abandoned us and left us paddling hard waters in shark infested waters. We do not need the Republican Party to make a difference in this wonderful country of ours!

And give them no money! No Spine, No Dime!  (Glad you like it.)
